
What is the Healthy Athletes Program?
Healthy Athletes is one of the global programs of Special Olympics, launched in 1997 to provide specialized healthcare services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through an interactive environment that supports health awareness and enhances quality of life.
The program provides free health screenings across a range of disciplines, in addition to educating athletes on various health-related topics. It also contributes to training healthcare professionals and students to deliver appropriate care for this group.
Program Mission
The Healthy Athletes Program aims to improve the health and well-being of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and enhance their access to healthcare services through preventive and educational initiatives that support a healthy and sustainable lifestyle.

Program Impact
The program provides athletes with comprehensive free healthcare services, including screenings, guidance, and health education. The program can be implemented in collaboration with healthcare entities, volunteers, and specialists across various regions of the Kingdom.
