Special Olympics Saudi Arabia serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who experience challenges in intellectual functioning and adaptive behavior, which may affect learning abilities, communication skills, or the performance of daily activities.
Eligibility for participation is determined in accordance with approved criteria, including limitations in intellectual functioning alongside challenges in adaptive skills such as communication, social interaction, and daily living skills, provided that these challenges manifested before the age of 18.
The target group may also include certain related developmental conditions that similarly affect an individual’s functional performance, in accordance with assessment results issued by the relevant specialized authorities.
Special Olympics Saudi Arabia believes in the abilities of these individuals and works to empower them through sports programs that build self-confidence and support their inclusion within society.
