Clubs within Special Olympics Saudi Arabia represent a fundamental pillar in delivering sports programs at the community level, serving as key platforms for training athletes and preparing them to participate in various competitions.
Clubs provide year-round sports training programs under the supervision of qualified technical staff, contributing to the development of athletes’ physical and technical abilities and preparing them for competition at the local, regional, and national levels.
Clubs also contribute to creating a safe and supportive sports environment that builds self-confidence, develops social skills, and encourages positive relationships among athletes, their families, and the wider community.
In collaboration with Special Olympics Saudi Arabia, clubs work to expand sports participation and provide individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities with opportunities to engage in sports activities on a regular and sustainable basis.
Clubs serve as the first point of contact for athletes and their families, marking the beginning of their journey of participation and development within Special Olympics programs.
Saudi Special Olympics licenses and accredits clubs in accordance with established standards, ensuring the quality of programs delivered and the achievement of their intended impact. Entities interested in establishing a Special Olympics club may also apply for accreditation through approved channels.
